Eco Farm

Raptor
One of the animals we saw that I managed to get a picture of, sort of, was this raptor

We stopped when the guide noticed a young crock in the creek.

A traffic stopper, not that there is much of that. The first of a number of Capybaras we saw during our stay, but the only one that I got pictures of, other than the ones at the Laguna in Rio. The others we saw in the river at night.

And that's it. The Eco Farm. Excellent food, great personnel, and lots of stuff to see. Big business in this area, but serves a good cause.

Later, after we had already settled in and explored the place, a gaggle of young kids arrived. We already felt like veterans by then, compared to them.

She was one of those arrivals. I chatted with her the next day, before
my departure, and we took pictures of the red and green macaw.

After dinner, the new kids immediately occupied both of these hammock equipped covers, mosquitoes be damned. I went on a night ride with my group - not really worth it.

Among the guests at the farm were these two Korean girls, one of who had spent a lot of time in Brazil and spoke Portugese perfectly. Her friend also had some knowledge. As soon as the ranchero hit the road, with about five or six people in the back, me in the cab, it started to pour. Being in the cab meant little, because I had no window on my side and had to put on my rain jacket. This is how the occupant in the back arrived at the pick-up point where the Mercedes mini was waiting for us. Everyone back there was soaked to the skin.

We arrived in Campo Grande after dark and the driver took these two straight to the bus terminal. They were going deeper into the Pantanal. I got back to the hostel, rushed to the Subway for dinner and by 0500 had a flight out of there to Manaus. There was not one red light the cabbie, or anyone else, stopped for. Everyone, at that hour of the night, just slowed down and moved on. I got to the airport in record time and then left the wet Pantanal behind me, winging my way to Manaus.
